The Mandate of the Parastatal Monitoring Department

The core mandate of the Parastatal Monitoring Department, under the Office of the Prime Minister, is to ensure effective governance, accountability and performance of parastatal entities.

This includes monitoring compliance with laws and regulations, advising on policy and financial matters and supporting institutional development through training, reforms, and strategic reviews. The Department also evaluates audit and financial reports, enforces workplace standards, manages parastatal information systems and ensures timely reporting and budget submissions.

It collaborates with stakeholders to improve service delivery and conducts investigations and evaluations to promote transparency, efficiency and public service effectiveness.
