Physical Planning and Development Appeals Tribunal

The Physical Planning and Development Appeals Tribunal is an independent body that hears appeals related to decisions made under the Physical Planning and Development Act Chapter 5.12 of the Revised Laws of Saint Lucia It consists of 3 to 5 members appointed by the Cabinet, including a legally qualified Chairperson and professionals with expertise in fields such as planning, engineering, or land development. The Tribunal also has the authority to determine compensation claims when disputes arise and no agreement is reached. It regulates its own proceedings, and decisions are made by majority vote, formally recorded, and authenticated. This ensures transparency, fairness, and expert oversight in the planning appeals process.
