Pesticides And Toxic Chemicals Control Board (PTCCB)

The Pesticide Unit within the Research and Development Division serves as the secretariat to the Pesticide Board and manages key pesticide-related activities. These include pesticide registration, licensing, inspections at ports and outlets, safety training, field assessments, and reporting on imports. The Unit also updates the Approved Pesticide Registration List and implements the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Control Act. The Pesticide Board, acting as the regulatory authority established under the Pesticides and Toxic Chemical Control Act Chapter 11.15 of the revised laws of Saint Lucia, oversees the licensing system, enforcement of the Act, and advises the Minister. As the National Authority, it ensures Saint Lucia’s compliance with international conventions by managing permits, reporting to relevant bodies, and facilitating both routine and challenge inspections in accordance with global standards.
