National Community Foundation (NCF)

The National Community Foundation (NCF), established in August 2002, operates under the authority of the National Community Foundation Act, Chapter 17.16 of the Revised Laws of Saint Lucia. It is a philanthropic, non-profit organization dedicated to grant-making in support of self-development and social upliftment.

The NCF is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the National Insurance Board in consultation with the Minister. Directors serve two-year terms and may be reappointed upon the expiration of their term.

Relying heavily on volunteer support, the NCF allocates funds to individuals, groups, and charitable causes that align with both donor interests and the Foundation’s mission. It seeks to empower people in difficult circumstances—particularly children pursuing education—and supports community-led initiatives aimed at improving quality of life.

In addition to its grant-making activities, the NCF advocates for public policy changes that further its mission. At its core, the Foundation is committed to assisting poor, needy, and disadvantaged individuals across Saint Lucia.
