National Accreditation Council

The National Accreditation Council established as a corporate body under the Accreditation Act, Chapter 18.11, is responsible for matters related to accreditation and quality assurance. It comprises a diverse group of members, including three representatives from the Ministry of Education with at least eight years of experience in tertiary education; one representative from the Ministry of Health with expertise in health education and quality assurance; a legal officer from the Attorney General’s Chambers; a human resource management professional; and one representative each from the Trade Union Federation, Employers’ Federation, the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council, as well as an expert in accreditation and quality assurance, and a training provider from the industry or private sector. The National Accreditation Council provides independent assurance that tertiary education in Saint Lucia meets internationally recognized standards and best practices.
