Engineers Registration Board

The Architects Registration Board is established under the authority of the Architects Registration Act, Chapter 5.13, with its governance guided by section 19 of the Interpretation Act and the provisions outlined in Schedule 1. This Board is responsible for overseeing the practice of architecture in Saint Lucia. Its key functions include registering architects and regulating their professional practice. It ensures that registered architects maintain acceptable standards of professional conduct. The Board also appoints examiners to administer necessary registration examinations. Additionally, it prescribes disciplinary procedures for addressing professional misconduct. The Board has the authority to undertake any actions necessary to fulfill its responsibilities effectively. Initially, the Board comprises seven members: five architects nominated by the Institute of Architects and appointed by the Minister, and two others selected by the Minister. For subsequent Boards, the composition changes slightly to include four nominated architects and three Minister-appointed members. The Board is also empowered to form committees of registered architects to assist in fulfilling its functions and may delegate responsibilities to these committees as needed.
