Team members from the Parastatal Monitoring Department visited the National Exhibition for the development of one out of three Underwater Sculpture Parks. The Parks will celebrate Saint Lucia’s history, culture and heritage.
According to the Minister for Tourism, Commerce, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Heritage, Hon. Ernest Hilaire,” Most importantly, this is a project about ownership. We asked Saint Lucians to help tell the story of Saint Lucia and our artists and community creatives contributed the ideas from which these sculptures were developed. We are therefore not simply presenting Saint Lucia to the world; we are allowing Saint Lucians to define how our history and heritage are presented to the world. My hope is that when people dive into this park, they will not only discover our history, but leave with a deeper appreciation for the resilience of our people, the richness of our culture and the responsibility we all share to protect our heritage for generations to come.”
